Description

Playing FF6 Advance reminds me that I'm rather fond of the sprite version of Celes.

Also that it involves a swimsuit in dire need of filling out. :B

Not actually terribly happy with this. Celes deserves a better artist for this.

Okay, so I've never done one of these before, but I think I know what you are asking for.

The first thing I look at in this piece is the FANTASTIC job that you did on her body proportions. That takes a lot of skill to do correctly, and your months of hard work shows through. Her pose even makes me feel like she's in the middle of a battle, on the defensive side.

Secondly, your colouring is nice and even, and you do the character great justice, even though you say that she deserved a better artist ^^' LIES!

But there are some things about this picture that could be improved upon, and I hope by my saying this please don't think me pretentious. Your lines are very nice and consistent, but maybe you could try a little more line variation? Like thicker places and thinner places instead of one solid line. This can help a picture seem more fluid, especially when you choose a dynamic pose like this.

Another thing is that while I love the pose, it kinda seems a little out of place with such a plain background (I know, the pot calling the kettle black). Maybe add her fighting some of those monsters that Final Fantasy is famous for?

Lastly, there are a few spots that look a little off/unfinished. Her shoulder pads are just plain white, I'm not sure if you forgot to shade them or that's the kinda lighting you were aiming for, but they look a little out of place <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a…" width="19" height="19" alt="^^;" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="417" title="Sweating a little..."/> The other thing that I noticed was the end of the cape on the right side. It flays off very low, and it gives the illusion that the cape is too long on that side.

Overall this is a great piece, and I certainly haven't seen anything like it before!
