A long whistle escaped from the mayor's lips. "Wow, that's..." He leaned over a bit to examine the hole a bit closer. "I didn't think a volleyball could DO that."
"Hah!" barked the large orc across the net. "And you thought you guys stood a chance against us!"
"That's another one for us, alright!" Reiyu chimed in, standing to Zagtakh's side.
Darren, to his credit, was still standing. Albeit frozen in place. He had been merely inches from intercepting Zagtakh's spike, and the crater before him spoke volumes about what might have happened to him if he had actually made it.
Warren patted him on the shoulder, partially out of pity, partially because, as a doctor, he probably shouldn't let the poor boy sit there in shock for so long. "There, there, Darren."
Ravendor, who was supposed to be referee, said nothing throughout all this. Truth be told he'd dozed off ages ago, not terribly interested in playing around at the beach.
As for Magi, well, while the ranger appreciated being on the winning team, Darren's near-miss with death was making him reconsider being anywhere NEAR the orc on the court.
belated birthday gift for
